What a Snowy Week!
Well winter has certainly arrived! What a way to start the week - snow! However, it was a great opportunity for us to test out our system on the web site letting you know that we are open. Was it helpful? We will usually know by 8.30 if the school will be open for business and we will try to update as soon as possible the message on the front page to let you know too. There is more snow on the way so please be careful and don't rush to get here.
We must have had a little intuition when we did the planning last year as our topic for this week is 'Winter' The children have been making some fantastic winter pictures using cold colours and resources. Have they brought them home to show you? What do you think?
Our focus activity this week is counting snowballs and looking at groups to see which has more or less in them. Of course we are not using real snowballs -although we could have possibly done that on Monday! The children enjoyed playing out in the snow on Monday - but unfortunately since then our playground has turned into an ice rink!
Please remember to put your child's name in their wellies to make sure we get the right feet in the correct boots.
Have you applied for your child's place at Primary school? Don't forget to bring in our form letting us know which are your preferred schools - thank you to those of you who have already sent them in.
This week we have welcomed two new children into the Pre-School and they are settling in, getting to know everyone and making new friends. The office has also been buzzing with activity this week sending out letters for our new intake in September 2013.
Have a great week - and keep safe in the snow.
