Welcome Jack Frost and Rosie!
What a great week – pumpkins, bats, fireworks, Guy Fawkes, fire… we had it all! Did you manage to get to a bonfire this weekend or did you have one at home? It’s been a great time for fireworks – although it was very, very cold. We will be talking about bonfires and fireworks this week and we can’t wait to hear about our children’s experiences.
We are really excited to welcome our new lady, Rosie, as she starts with us this week. She has worked at other settings in the area and some of you may already know her. We can’t wait to start working with her and she promises to help out with messy play! Please say hi to her when you see her.
This week we are practicing being independent by trying to put on and take off our coats, please help your child at home. We are talking about being safe in the dark and reflectors. If you are out and about at night help your child to see things which reflect in the dark. Does your child know how to cross over the road properly and what to look out for? We will be practicing road safety (don’t panic - not on a real road!).
It’s not many weeks until our Christmas sing-a-long; a letter will be coming out shortly to tell you all about it. We are starting to learn the songs so don’t be alarmed if your child starts singing a Christmas themed song, (‘Very’ has shown their Christmas advert on TV this weekend so it’s obviously not too early!) We hope you will be able to come and see out little ones perform, it is on Monday 4th December and the Greenacre committee will be there to welcome you and will have coffee and mince pies available while you wait. We will also be holding a raffle, so don’t forget your money!
Remember that tonight (Monday 6th from 3:30 until 5) is our informal parents evening. It’s a great opportunity for you to come into the classroom and have a look at all the hard work we have been doing this term. If you are unable to come then please speak to your child’s Key Person to arrange a suitable time for you to come in. We look forward to seeing you.
Have a great week.
