It’s that sad time of year…
It’s our last week at Pre-School before the summer holiday. We have got the tissues out as we say a sad farewell to our little ones who are moving onto the next stage of their educational career. We are so proud of the achievements our children have made during their short time with us. They have developed so many skills, sharing, building relationships, talking confidently, mark making, having fun… so in the words of Nanny McPhee, our job is done!
It was great to see so many of you at our ‘Walk the Walls’ event last week. We have been returning your child’s work and as we take our displays down – we now have very bare walls, but it won’t be long until we are filling them up again.
Our Teddy Bear picnic week has been very successful and we are glad the heat wave we ordered last year eventually arrived! Long may it last!! Don’t forget all Teddy’s should have a label with their owners name on – we don’t want any missing bears! More importantly don’t forget to take all Teddy’s home!!
Finally, we couldn’t leave without saying how extremely sad we are to say goodbye to our Linda. This week, she is hanging up her apron, putting away the paints and glue and tidying up the toys for the last time. Linda has been with the Pre-School team for 27 years and in that time, she has worked tirelessly to give children a good start to their education. Linda has seen many changes over the years but has faced the challenges and moved with the times. Most recently she has learnt to use a computer!! Everyone at Greenacre would like to thank Linda for all the time, effort and commitment she has given the Pre-School, the children and her colleagues over the year. We all wish her well and can’t wait to hear about her new adventures as she explores her retirement.
So, it now just leaves us to say we wish you all a wonderful summer break. Good Luck to those of you who are leaving us and to those who are staying we will see you week commencing 3rd September.
