Autumn leaves are falling down…

Posted by admin on October 17, 2016

We had some interesting chats last week about bones and the skeleton.  Some children were really fascinated with the names of bones and where they are in the body – perhaps we have doctors and nurses in the making.  We have had so much fun with role play in the hospital – there were some interesting injuries and remedies!!  Has your child been talking to you at home about what they have learnt?  Did you learn the skeleton song?

This week we are talking about autumn.  We are looking at the environment and talking about how it changes each season.  You can help your child by talking about what you can see when you are out and about.  We already have a fantastic collection of leaves and conkers!  We will be singing the autumn song – perhaps you would like to learn it too, here are the words it is sung to the tune of ‘London Bridge is falling down’

Autumn leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down

Autumn leaves are falling down, red, yellow, orange and brown

A new ‘Home Link’ is coming out to you this week – it has an autumn theme.  There are autumn things to count with your child – perhaps you could use it as a ‘Spotter’ sheet and see if you can find any of the items in your garden.

So that’s it for this half term – don’t forget we break up this Friday for a week and are back in on Monday 31st October.  Have a great week off and don’t forget the clocks go back on Sunday 30th October.
