A big thank you to everyone who came to our Summer Fayre on Saturday and thankfully the weather was kind to us. It was great to see so many families, new and old. We rely on your support for our fund raising events and we are pleased to say we raised almost £600, which is fantastic. We hope you and your family enjoyed meeting everyone and we know a lot of you went home with a bag full of prizes! Thank you to those who donated prizes for our stalls and Grand Raffle and also to everyone who baked.

Thank goodness the weather has changed – it makes everyone feel so happy doesn’t it? But now the sun is out don’t forget to make sure your child has sun cream on before they come to Pre-School. If they are staying all day we will ‘top up’ at lunch time for the afternoon. Remember your sun hat too!

For the next two weeks our topic is ‘People who help us’ the home corner has been changed from the travel agents to the ‘Greenacre Hospital’. We have a few people visiting us to talk about their jobs. We still have a few spaces so if you work in an industry that helps people and have half an hour to spare would you like to come in and talk to our children? Just speak with a member of staff and let them know.

Welcome back to Pre-School everyone. We hope you have had a great week off, and made the most of the sunshine - we can’t wait to hear what you and your family having been doing. Did you go away? Do you have any photographs you would like to show at news time?

Last week we released our butterflies into the big wide world. They were a bit hesitant at first but they eventually flew off into the sun. The children loved watching them fly away and some were even lucky enough for the butterflies to land on them!

Thank you to everyone who came into Pre-School wearing the colour of the day. It was good to talk about the different colours and shades. This week is healthy eating week, so we will be talking about foods which are healthy and those which we shouldn’t eat too much of. Also this week we will be growing cress and each child will have their own little pot – please help them to look after it when they bring it home.

This week is our colour week. Each day we will be focusing on a different colour. Why not dress your child in the colour of the day? Monday is red, Tuesday is yellow, Wednesday is green, Thursday is blue and Friday is orange.

Last week we had our visit from Lisa the bug lady. Some children were a little nervous meeting all of her animals, others took it in their stride and were happy to stroke and hold them. Did they tell you about it?

This week we continue to look at bugs and creepy crawlies. If you go into your garden why not have a look for the little animals that live there. We are on the hunt in the Pre-School garden for little beasties – how many will we find?

Welcome back everyone. We hope you all have had a great break and are ready for the next six weeks until the half term. We have a lot to pack in this term, most excitingly is of course the confirmation of Primary school places and the start of your child’s next stage of their education. When you have received your confirmation email, please inform your key person which school your child has received their place for so that we can start the transition documentation.
