Sing and play

Posted by admin on February 6, 2018

It’s one of our favourite topics this week – Music.  We will be looking at different types of instruments and music.  The children will have the opportunity to make their own instrument and join our little band.  Do you play an instrument?  Could you bring it in and play it to the children?  If you can please let a member of staff know when you are able to come in.

Which shape are you?

Posted by admin on January 29, 2018

It’s shape week.  We are looking at and talking about different shapes.  You can help your child when you are out and about by looking for different shapes in the environment… traffic signs, packaging in the supermarket, windows, doors etc.

We had snow again!

Posted by admin on January 22, 2018

The snow trend continues this is the fourth year running that snow has coincided with our ‘Winter’ topic!!  Unfortunately, it didn’t stay for very long and there wasn’t enough to go sledging or build a snowman. But the children were very excited to see it! There isn’t any more forecast but just in case it snows again you can check out ‘Our Parents’ page on our website to see any changes to our opening hours.

Rawdon Littlemoor are organising a Sign2sing fundraising event and have asked us if we would like to join in.  We will be teaching your children the words and actions over the next couple of weeks. You can help your child to learn the song and signs by visiting the website www.sign2sing.org.uk/how-to-get-involved/learn-the-songs/

Will it snow?

Posted by admin on January 15, 2018

This week we are talking about winter and historically when we have done this topic it has snowed!!  So will the trend continue?  We will have to wait and see! If it does snow we always aim to open but if you are unsure check out ‘Our Parents’ page on our website to see any changes to our opening hours.

(If you can’t have glitter at Christmas when can you have it!!??)

How well did they do?

Posted by admin on December 4, 2017

Thank you to everyone who came to join us on Monday to watch our Christmas Sing-a-long.  We were so proud of our children – weren’t they fantastic?  We raised £150 towards our resources for your children, thank you to everyone who donated prizes and bought raffle tickets.  Now we have finished the concert and the props have been put away we are preparing for our Christmas party next Monday afternoon.  If your child does not attend the afternoon session please bring them at 1.00pm to join in the fun.

Christmas countdown

Posted by admin on November 27, 2017

We have only 3 weeks until we break up for the holidays, but we have lots of things planned and will be really busy keeping all of our excited children occupied.  This week we are making Christingles and learning about the true meaning of Christmas.  Your child will also be bringing home a collection candle from The Children Society.  This charity was set up in the 60’s to help vulnerable children and is still very active today.  For those of you who have children at Littlemoor and need a candle for their Christingle we have some available to purchase for a small donation.

Space – the final frontier…..
