Almost half term

Posted by admin on February 11, 2019

This is our last week of half term, we break up this Friday for a week.  We have a busy week ahead finding out all about our senses.  We will be hearing, tasting, seeing, smelling and touching lots of different things.  Why not do some ‘blind’ testing at home to see if your child can guess correctly what they can smell or taste.

Happy Chinese New Year!  It’s the Year of the pig – those people who are born in this year (1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995 and 2007) are said to be chivalrous, optimistic and frank, kind and loyal friends and light of heart. Sometimes they can be a little too trusting.  Which year were you born in?  This week we have lots of Chinese based activities planned and the children will have the opportunity to try Chinese food at snack times.

Have you seen the Music Man?

January has almost come to an end and Christmas is now a memory away.  This week we will be making lots of noise as we will be playing different instruments and listening to the sounds they make.  The children will also have the opportunity to make their own instrument and join our little band.  Do you play an instrument?  Could you bring it in and play it to the children?  If you can please let a member of staff know when you are able to come in.

The snow trend continues – yes it was only a few flakes and it didn’t last for long, but it was still snow!!  This is the fifth year running that snow has coincided with our ‘Wintery’ topics!!  It remains to be seen if we get any more - but just in case it snows again you can check out ‘Our Parents’ page on our website to see any changes to our opening hours.

Any snow yet?

It’s our last week of the Autumn Term and we are starting off with our Christmas Party.  The children will be dancing, playing games, eating party food – and if they are good a special visitor might call in.  We have lots of activities going on and glitter galore! (If you can’t have glitter at Christmas when can you have it!!??)

Didn't they do well??

Thank you to everyone who came to join us on Monday to watch our Christmas Sing-a-long.  We were so proud of our children – weren’t they fantastic?  We raised £168.66 towards our resources for your children, thank you to everyone who donated prizes and bought raffle tickets.  Now we have finished the concert and the props have been put away we are preparing for our Christmas party next Monday afternoon.  If your child does not attend the afternoon session, please bring them at 1.00pm to join in the fun.

It's December!
