It’s our last week of the Autumn Term and we are starting off with our Christmas Party. The children will be dancing, playing games, eating party food – and we have a special visitor dropping by. We have lots of activities going on and glitter galore! (If you can’t have glitter at Christmas when can you have it!!??)

Thank you to everyone who came to join us on Monday to watch our Christmas Sing-a-long. We were so proud of our children – weren’t they fantastic? We raised £150 towards our resources for your children, thank you to everyone who donated prizes and bought raffle tickets. Now we have finished the concert and the props have been put away we are preparing for our Christmas party next Monday afternoon. If your child does not attend the afternoon session please bring them at 1.00pm to join in the fun.

We have only 3 weeks until we break up for the holidays, but we have lots of things planned and will be really busy keeping all of our excited children occupied. This week we are making Christingles and learning about the true meaning of Christmas. Your child will also be bringing home a collection candle from The Children Society. This charity was set up in the 60’s to help vulnerable children and is still very active today. For those of you who have children at Littlemoor and need a candle for their Christingle we have some available to purchase for a small donation.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our ‘Children in Need’ collection last week. We raised a fantastic £53.70! Everyone looked amazing dressed up in their outfits and pyjamas. It has been a great week to celebrate a wonderful charity.

How fantastic to see so many of you at our informal parents evening last Monday. We hope you have enjoyed looking through your child’s profile and seeing what they have been getting up to this term. If you have not already done so please sign and return so that your child’s Key Person can continue adding to it. If you were unable to come into the classroom last week please ask a member of staff to have a look around.

What a great week – pumpkins, bats, fireworks, Guy Fawkes, fire… we had it all! Did you manage to get to a bonfire this weekend or did you have one at home? It’s been a great time for fireworks – although it was very, very cold. We will be talking about bonfires and fireworks this week and we can’t wait to hear about our children’s experiences.

We are back after our week off and can’t wait to get started on our next half term. We have lots of things planned and of course the excitement will start for the big man’s arrival in December! (Sorry if it's a bit early to be thinking of it!!) We have some new children starting this week so it will be great getting to know them all and meeting their families. If you have any concerns or worries about your child please speak with a member of staff.

What a lovely weekend we’ve just had – did you manage to get out for an autumnal walk? Our children went out for a walk on Friday to have a look at all the changes happening at this time of year. We saw different coloured leaves, picked lots of apples, found some beechnuts and thistles and then sang autumn songs in the shelter.

We had some interesting chats last week about bones and the skeleton. Some children were really fascinated with the names of bones and where they are in the body – perhaps we have doctors and nurses in the making. We have had so much fun with role play in the hospital – there were some interesting injuries and remedies!! Has your child been talking to you at home about what they have learnt? Did you learn the skeleton song?

It was great to see photographs of family members last week, thank you to everyone who sent them in. It was a lovely opportunity for children to ‘show and tell’ at carpet time; they proudly stood at the front of the class and talked about their family and when and where the pictures were taken.
