Happy Chinese New Year!  So how was your half term holiday?  We are back and refreshed and ready for the next six weeks until the Easter break. It’s the Year of the dog– those people who are born in this year (1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994 and 2006) are said to possess the best traits of human nature. They are honest, friendly, faithful, loyal, smart, straightforward, respected and have a strong sense of responsibility. On the negative side, they are likely to be self-righteous, cold, terribly stubborn, slippery, critical of others and not good at social activities!  Which year were you born in?  This week we have lots of Chinese based activities planned and the children will have the opportunity to try Chinese food at snack times.

Sing and play

It’s one of our favourite topics this week – Music.  We will be looking at different types of instruments and music.  The children will have the opportunity to make their own instrument and join our little band.  Do you play an instrument?  Could you bring it in and play it to the children?  If you can please let a member of staff know when you are able to come in.

Our Team

At the sharp end

Greenacre Pre-School is managed by Julie Thornton and staffed by a team of eight. The experienced caring staff are dedicated to making children, happy, safe and ready for school.

Staff are fully qualified to level 3 or above in childcare and all have had enhanced DBS checks.  Qualified first aiders are available at each session.

We offer a ratio of 1 staff member to 5 children, which far exceeds the Ofsted recommendation of 1 to 8 allowing staff to spend more time with the children.

The Pre-School committee

Greenacre Pre-School is a voluntary committee with a Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary and other committee members recruited from Pre-School parents. This gives them the opportunity to have an input into the further development and progress of the Pre-School. The committee can be contacted by email greenacrecommittee(at)hotmail.co.uk
